Altar Guild

The Altar Guild prepares the altar and church each week for celebrating the Eucharist, in addition to setting up for baptisms and other special services throughout the year.  Guild members are also responsible for arranging the altar and chapel flowers, caring for the linens, polishing the brasses and silver, and assuring that the vestments and banners are ready for each season.

Each Altar Guild member is assigned to a team and a team serves one week a month.  Our Altar Guild has three directors who share the responsibilities for coordinating these important services.  The directors handle everything from the flower calendar and ordering, scheduling, ordering of supplies, to communicating with the clergy.  All interested men, women and teenagers are invited to join this special ministry.  Contact:  Mary Cloutier

The Altar Guild has a good camaraderie and members work really well together and with the clergy.  One director commented:  "It is a wonderful way to get to know others in the parish...We all think of it as a special quiet time and great friendships are formed."  She also commented that her "work for the Altar Guild...provides me with an opportunity to clear my thoughts and get away from the busy world....I view it as a gift to the parish and to God, and I know my fellow Altar Guild members feel the same way."
